Ulises Poirier (1927)


Chilean footballer (soccer player), nicknamed "El Gringo," and the top idol of the club La Cruz de Valparaíso. He is considered one of the best left defenders in the history of football of his country and the best Chilean soccer player of his generation from the 1920s to the 1930s. He played on the Chilean national team from 1919 to 1930. He died on 9 March 1977, aged 80.
