Biography

Mexican politican. Former director of the Federal Security Directorate (DFS) 1982-1984. Masterminding the murder of journalist Manuel Buendia occurred on May 30, 1984 in Mexico City. For this crime he was jailed in 1989 and released on 19 February 2009. However, it was reaprehendido on June 13 of that year after Federal District authorities revoked the benefit of early release, claiming that Zorrilla, then 62 years old, gave no moral endorsement letter, passport size photographs, a letter of work, so he had to return to a cell. On 10 September 2013 the judge Sanctions Enforcement Varonil Eastern Prison, Belem Bolanos ordered to transfer to their home as home custody Zorrilla Perez because of his poor health. This benefit was given to him by the refusal of local authorities to deliver his early release for good behavior and for having served more than half his sentence, besides having done community work.
