French race car driver, he was European Supersport 600 champion in 1993 and 1995, and was considered the best Belgian pure speed driver of his generation. He died after a crash during the tests at the World Supersport Championship on 9 May 1998 in Monza, Italy at 10:14 AM EET. He was transported to an emergency room, where he was declared dead at 1:15 PM EET.
