Biography

French naval engineer and shipbuilder from a family of shipbuilders established in Normandy in the 18th century at Honfleur. His father, Augustin Normand (1792-1871), was responsible for the construction, in 1842, of the first helicopter steamer in France, Le Napoléon, later renamed Le Corse.

He died in Le Havre on 11 December 1906, aged 67.
