Biography
Swiss rockslide, killing 457 persons. After a rainy summer the Rossberg lost its stability. Two different tectonical zones at Goldau, a part of Arth, didn't keep no more and buried Goldau,Röthen,Buosingen and Lauerz.Eyewitnesses spoke of a 20 m high wave in the Lauerzer Sea.After 1000 m the masses directed to the Rigi.2 churches and chapels were destroyed,100 houses and 220 stalls. It's still to see where the masses broke and began to slide down the valley. The catastrophe was the second worst event of nature, behind the Earthquake of Basel(1356).
