Mexican earthquake with 10 000 victims, 30 000 injured and more than 100 000 left homeless. Severe damage in Mexico City.Other estimations speak of 35 000 who died.The shock (M=7,9)with an intensity of IX caused between $3 and $4 billion of damage was felt 20 million people of a vast region. 412 buildings collapsed, anotherr 3124 were seriously damaged.In several cities 60% of the houses were destroyed.Felt also in Texas (Houston)and Guatemala.Sand blows,landslides,rockslides along the highways.Water well fluctuations in Texas.A large percentage of the destroyed buildings were between 8 and 18 stories high.Tsunami height:3m at Zihuatenejo and 2,8m at Lazaro Cardenas,1,4m in Acapulco. Unconfirmed reports of heavy seas up to 30m near the time of the quake.
