Biography

French surgeon.

His father Frédéric Clément Constantin Gustave Monod (30 December 1803, Copenhagen - 16 October 1890, Paris) was a Danish surgeon and co-fouder of the Société Nationale de Chirurgie. His mother was Jane Caroline Barnes Good (14 September 1813, Copenhagen - 23 April 1885, Paris). They married 13 May 1840 in Paris and got seven children.

He became a surgeon at the Saint Antoine and the Protestant hospital of Paris. Later he became professor of surgery in Paris and member of the academy.

In 1867 he married Léontine Antoinette Alliez (11 October 1846, Manchester - 16 September 1935, Paris). Between 1868 and 1887 they got nine children.

He died 31 March 1921 in Paris.
