Biography

Spanish botanist and phycologist (scientist who studies algae). He published over 70 research papers in Spanish and foreign scientific journals, and he discovered over 50 types of algae. Miranda was appointed Honorary Member (1958) and Honorary President (1960) of the Botanical Society of Mexico. He died in Mexico on December 17, 1964.
