Biography
German writer whose work includes 'Memories of an Idealist,' the first volume of which she published anonymously in 1869. She was a friend of Friedrich Nietzsche and Richard Wagner, and met the French writer Romain Rolland in Rome in 1890. She died on 23 April 1903, aged 86, in Rome, Italy.

Vgl. Stadt, D 72 von Meysenbug, Nr. 122: Auszug aus dem Taufregister vermutlich der Oberneustadt - in Kassel. Der Eintrag Nr. 79 lautet: »Malwida ... Hansel T[ochter] geb. den 28t October, Nachts 11 1/2 Uhr, getauft den 3t December."
Translation: Her first name is a strange concoction of the various female first names of her godmothers. See: City, D. 72, Meysenbug, No. 122: Extract from the parish register probably the Oberneustadt - in Kassel. The entry No. 79 reads: "Malwida ... Hansel T[ochter] born the 28th October, 11 1/2 o'clock at night, baptized the 3rd December".
