American award-winning oil painter, art curator and gallery owner, whose establishments included the Moonfire Gallery, Spirit Runner Gallery and Ouray’s Fine Arts in Taos. His artwork is often described as Southwest Impressionism. He died on 7 January 2016, aged 77, at Albuquerque after a brief illness.

Ouray passed away on January 7, 2016 at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque after a brief illness. Known to the Taos Pueblo Indians as ‘Toshanie’ (boy of the dawn)..."
