Biography

American prelate of the Catholic Church, who served as Archbishop of Chicago from 1958 until his death, and was appointed a cardinal in 1959. Meyer died on 9 April 1965 from a heart attack after an operation to remove a malignant brain tumour in Mercy Hospital at age 62.
