Pierre Messmer

French politician, served as Prime Minister under Georges Pompidou from 6 July 1972 to 27 May 1974. A Gaullist, he served with the "Free French" forces 1940-1945. Married once.

He died in a military hospital in Paris, France on 29 August 2007.
