Biography

Norwegian physician. He served as chief medical officer in Tromsø 1946-1952, national chief physician for hygiene in the Norwegian Directorate for Health 1950-1972, and chief medical officer in Oslo 1972-1985. His brother was Supreme Court Judge Jens Christian Mellbye.

Mellbye died on 4 January 1999 in Oslo, Norway, aged 81.
