Biography
Scottish politician and Member of Parliament, returned by By-Election, 11/27/1990, replacing Norman Buchan who died on 10/23/1990.
McMaster suffered from chronic fatigue that he ascribed to use of horticultural chemicals. In addition, he was devastated by what he felt was a smear campaign besmirching his reputation by claiming he was a homosexual with AIDS. In addition he was viciously mugged in June 1997. Evidently able to bear no more, he committed suicide on July 28, 1997 by inhaling fumes from his car parked in his Johnstone (Scotland) garage. He was 37.
