Biography
American daughter of noted parents, the offspring of William Gibbs McAdoo (1863–1941), a lawyer and statesman, and Eleanor Wilson McAdoo (1889–1967), an author and daughter of president Woodrow Wilson.
Ellen Wilson McAdoo married Filipino actor Rafael De Onate (AKA Ralph Novarro) on 10 November 1934. Their son, Ricardo Lopez de Onate (later renamed Richard Floyd McAdoo) was born on 27 July 1935 in Vienna, Austria. The couple divorced in 1937.
On 12 September 1938, she married William Alfred Hinshaw, a French horn player with the Kansas City Symphony Orchestra. Their son, William Gibbs Hinshaw, was born on 30 April 1941. McAdoo and Hinshaw divorced in 1943.
Ellen Wilson McAdoo died on 22 December 1946 at age 31 in Santa Monica, California.
