Biography
American baseball star with the Milwaukee Braves, giving them a "fearsome home run punch." Matthews, along with Hank Aaron helped lead Milwaukee to its only World Series championship and he is considered one of baseball's greatest third basemen. He died of complications from pneumonia on 18 February 2001, La Jolla, California.
