Biography

Peruvian drag queen and LGBT icon who rose to fame in the 1990s. In 1998 Marusix hosted the TV program Loca Visión which only lasted one episode before being censored. Coco Marusix also was part of the ensemble cast of the comedy show Risas y salsa (Laughter and Salsa). In 2002 Marusix participated in the film Ladies' Bathroom by director Michael Kats playing the role of a transsexual woman. In March 2003, Marusix suffered a stroke which affected the mobility of their lower extremities and led to a deep depression. In 2018 Coco was a guest jurist on the TV contest Artist of the Year, hosted by Gisela Valcárcel.
