Source Notes

Sy Scholfield originally forwarded news report from "Deutschland," 12 January 1858: "Dresden, 10. Jan. Aus Florenz ist die ... Erzgrossherzoginn Anna von Toscana heute Morgen 4 Uhr von einer Prinzessin glücklich entbunden." (Dresden, Jan. 10. In Florence the ... Archduchess Anna from Tuscany this morning at 4 o'clock was happily delivered of a princess).

On 10 January 2017, Scholfield changed the time to 3:45am, having forwarded a more precise time of birth from news report in "Die Presse," 13 January 1858, p. 3: "Ihre kaiserliche Hoheit die Erbgroßherzogin Anna von Toscana ist am 10. d. M. Morgens um 3 Uhr von einer Prinzessin glücklich entbunden worden." (Her imperial majesty, Hereditary Grand Duchess Anna of Toscana, was happily delivered of a princess on the morning of the 10th, at three-forty-five o'clock).
