Queen Consort of the French Maria Amalia

Biography

French queen and the wife of Louis Philippe I, King of the French. She was the seventh of nine children of Ferdinando I of the Two Sicilies and Maria Carolina of Austria.

Maria Amalia and Louis Philippe d'Orléanswere married in Palermo on 25 November 1809. They had ten children.

She died on 24 March 1866, aged 83.

Sy Scholfield forwarded news report from London Gazette (London, England), 21 May 1782: "Caserta, April 30. On Friday last, at Half past Eight o'Clock in the Morning, the Queen of Naples was safely delivered of a Princess at this Palace."
