Biography
French actor, film director, screenwriter, born to confectioners. He passed the police inspector examination aged 20. Inspired by Melville and his film "Serpico", he left the police and met director Yves Rénier to play in the serie "Commissaire Moulin". In 2005, he was nominated for three César Awards (best director, best film and best writing) for his film '36 Quai des Orfèvres.' He also created the popular French television police drama 'Braquo' and wrote and directed some episodes in its first season (2009). With his wife Catherine, they have 4 children (Zoé is an actress).
