Biography
French actor born to an English military officer, known for a lot of roles; he appeared in Hibernatus (with Louis De Funès), The Name of the Rose (directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud), the James Bond film Moonraker and Des Hommes et des Dieux with Lambert Wilson.
On 25 February 2011, he won a César Award, as a Best Supporting Actor in Of Gods and Men. Lonsdale was also the author of ten books. He died on 21 September 2020 at age 89 in Paris.
