Belgian financial examining magistrate in Brussels since February 1996. Responsible for the KB-Lux affair (a tax fraud to the detriment of the Belgian state, estimated at BIF 42 billion), he was the victim of actions aimed at destabilizing him (flat tyres, threats, anonymous calls, and unfounded accusations). Judge Leys placed KB-Lux president Damien Wigny under arrest.
