Biography

Italian Catholic priest and founder of the religious congregation of the Oblates of the Virgin Mary in the Kingdom of Piedmont-Sardinia in northwestern Italy in the early 19th century. He died on 5 August 1830 im Pinerolo, Italy. Lanteri's cause for canonization was begun in 1920 and he was declared Venerable by Pope Paul VI in 1965.
