Dutch civil engineer involved in the construction of the State Railways, who wrote books on railway bridges in the Netherlands. He retired in 1897 and settled in Nijmegen. On 30 October 1897 he was appointed secretary treasurer of the Dutch association for local railways and tramways. He was married to Sara Anna Cornelia Spandaw (1843-1912), with whom he had a daughter. He died in Arnhem on 2 March 1903, aged 61.
