Austrian astrologer, author, librarian and historian best known for his historical studies and his excellent history of astrology.
Knappich was library director of the Vienna Chamber of Commerce. After his retirement in 1933, together with Walter A. Koch, he devoted himself to the history of astrological houses and their calculations. With his work Horoskop und Himmelshäuser – Grundlagen und Altertum (The Horoscope and Its Houses - Basics and History, 1959), he created, together with Koch, one of the most comprehensive analyzes of ancient house systems.
