Dutch painter who produced watercolours and oils of many towns and villages.
He was a pupil of Christoffel Bisschop (1828-1904) and Louis Meijer (1809-1866), and became a member of the Pulchri studio and later won many prizes. A street is named after him in the neighbourhood of streets named after 19th and 20th century Dutch painters in Overtoomse Veld-Noord, Amsterdam.
He died on 23 April 1924 in The Hague.
