John King

American news anchor and television analyst who is CNN's chief national correspondent, based in Washington, DC, and is anchor of its roundtable political discussion program "Inside Politics."

He is the former anchor of "State of the Union" on CNN (beginning on 18 January 2009), as well as "John King, USA."

King joined CNN in May 1997 and worked his way up. He was CNN's senior White House correspondent from 1999 to 2005. In April 2005 he was named chief national correspondent.

King holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Rhode Island. He joined the Associated Press in 1985 as a writer moving on up to chief political correspondent.

He married Dana Bash, fellow news correspondent on CNN, on 25 May 2008 in Chatham, MA after converting to Judaism for her. It was a second marriage for both. Bash was born on 15 June 1971 in New York.
