American vocalist. Masterminds Kaylan and Volman met in a high school in Southern California in 1961, formed a surf group 1962-65, which evolved into "The Turtles". The group had a number of smash hits, such as "Happy Together," "She'd Rather Be With Me" and "Elenore." Their most successful year was 1967. Volman was on guitar and vocals, Kaylan was on vocals.

The pair joined Frank Zappa's band, "The Mothers Of Invention," Volman as Phlorescent Leech ("Flo") and Kaylan as "Eddie." They did extensive tours with the band and appeared in a movie, "200 Motels." They also recorded as "Flo & Eddie" through 1976 before turning to the small screen, working as producers and writers of TV movies and comedy shows.
