Biography
German pathologist, university lecturer, and a professor at the Academy for Practical Medicine in Cologne. Jores became a medical professor at the Philipps-Universität Marburg in 1913 and a professor of pathology at the Christian-Albrechts-University Kiel in 1918. In 1926/27 he was rector of the CAU. His textbook Anatomische Grundlagen wichtiger Krankheiten (Anatomical foundations of important diseases) was translated into English during the First World War for the American market. Jores was the father of Arthur Jores, the founder of psychosomatic medicine in Germany.
He died in Bonn, Germany, on 7 February 1935, aged 68.
