French mining engineer and chemist who served as Professor of Chemistry at the Ecole des Mines de Paris; a member of the Academy of Sciences, the Annales des Mines Commission, the Scientific Committee on Powders and the CNRS Executive Board; and President of the Chemical Society of France, The French Association for the Advancement of Science from 1948 to 1951, the Mineral Chemistry Section of the International Chemistry Union, and the IG Farben Supervisory and Management Board.
He died on 18 February 1954 in Paris, aged 69.
