Biography
German poet, author, and cultural critic essayist. The younger brother of Ernst Jünger, he volunteered for military service in 1916 and was seriously wounded in the Battle of Langemarck. After the First World War he studied law and cameralism at the universities of Leipzig and Halle-Wittenberg. He died on 20 July 1977 in Überlingen.

Sy Scholfield cites birth certificate quoted in "Friedrich Georg Jünger und der 'radikale Geist'" by Ulrich Fröschle (w.e.b., 2008), p. 57: "der Anzeigenden Gegenwart am ersten September des Jahres tausend acht hundert neunzig und acht Nachmittags um sieben einhalb Uhr ein Kind männlichen Geschlechts geboren worden sei, welches seinen Vornamen noch nicht erhalten habe." [Abridged translation: these persons present stated that on the first of September of the year eighteen ninety-eight at seven and a half o'clock after noon a male child was born, yet unnamed.]
