Friedrich Wilhelm Jähns (1850)

Biography

German music scholar, voice teacher, and composer, best known for his thematic catalogue of the works of Carl Maria von Weber.

In 1833, he married Ida von Klöden (1816–1886), a daughter of Karl Friedrich von Klöden (1786–1856). Their son was the noted lieutenant colonel Max Jähns.

Friedrich Wilhelm Jähns died in Berlin on 8 August 1888, aged 79.
