Dutch journalist and playwright, who worked as an editor at the Hague newspaper "Het Vaderland." He was friends with the writer Louis Couperus. In 1890, Couperus dedicated the second edition of his novel "Eline Vere" to him. In 1892, he adapted Couperus's novel "Noodlot" into a play.
He died in The Hague on 27 August 1894.
