Biography
German weightlifter and Olympic champion. Ismayr won a gold medal at the 1932 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. He received a silver medal at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin.
He was expected by Hitler to get the golden medal but the Egyptian Khadr El Touni beat him.
Ismayr took the Olympic Oath at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin.
He died 11 May 1998.
