Marcelle Irvin (The Irvin Sisters, circa 1930)

French music hall artist, dancer, and operetta singer. She began her career on stage at a young age with her younger sister Geneviève in 1921. The sisters later formed a duo of nude dancers, the Irvin Sisters, and appeared in numerous reviews, at the Moulin Rouge, at the Palace, and so forth. In 1930, they were featured in Folies de Paris, revised in two acts by Saint-Granier, at the Folies-Marigny. The duo ceased in 1933. She was hired by Georgius, director of Gaieté-Montparnasse with whom she lived from 1934 and had a daughter Georgette; they married on 18 April 1939. She died in Paris on 3 October 1949 at age 44.
