Dutch painter, etcher, watercolourist, artist and curator.

For a number of years he worked in England where he mainly focused on painting scenes of fox hunting with dogs. In 1895, an exhibition of his work was held in London. After returning to the Netherlands, he began to concentrate on painting animal scenes, such as duck and hare hunts and images of dogs and pigs.

He died on 14 June 1913.
