French neurologist, cardiologist and specialist in the study of cardiovascular disease, who is remembered for his research of arteriosclerosis. His name is lent to "Huchard's disease" (continued arterial hypertension), and to "Huchard's sign", which is an indication of hypertension, and defined as a pulse rate that does not decrease when changing from a standing to a supine position.
He studied medicine at the University of Paris, later being appointed médecin des hôpitaux. During his career he was associated with the Bichat and Necker hospitals in Paris. Huchard was a member of the Académie de Médecine.
Huchard married Berthe Gilbert with whom he had two sons. He died on 11 December 1910, aged 66.
Sy Scholfield submitted birth certificate (acte n° 10) from the online Aube archives. Grazia Bordoni's Science database quotes Gauquelin for 8 AM on 5 April but this is the date and time of the registration, presumably recorded from the start of the birth certificate in error by the clerk and forwarded to Gauquelin as a memo.
English Wikipedia incorrectly has 1 December.
