Biography

American artist and poet; she died on April 28, 2003 after a four-year battle with ALS. She wrote hundreds of poems and, as a young woman, moved to New York where she established a reputation as an artist. In the 70s, after she moved back to Boston, MA, she organized communal housing and joined the macrobiotic movement. For the 17 years prior to her death, she worked as communications and field service coordinator for Boston University’s School of Education; she was a prolific writer and poet and editor of various publications and, until the time of death, was taking classes toward her bachelor’s degree.
