English actress, best known for her long-running role (2001-2013) as feisty ward sister Chrissie Williams in the BBC medical drama, Holby City.
Very shy as a child, Hobley was sent to speech and drama classes in an attempt to counter her introversion. After graduating from the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art, where she trained from 1990 to 1993, Hobley had a number of roles in a variety of television dramas, including Coronation Street, as Samantha Failsworth, Harbour Lights and The Bill. On 3 October 2013, Smooth Radio announced that Hobley would become a presenter on the network, fronting a programme on Sunday mornings.

Sy Scholfield quotes a London tabloid newspaper article which states that she has "the sun, Venus and Saturn in Taurus, ....[and] her rising sign is Virgo" ("Am I marrying Mr Right?" by HELEN WEATHERS, Mirror, 23 June 1998). NB. Her official website once stated her year of birth as 1972 but that seems to have been removed as of 2013 (http://www.tinahobley.co.uk/). "Tina Ellen Hobley" is listed in the UK Births Index, registered in 1971 at Hampstead district, London. When the sign of the ascendant is given but not the degree of that sign, Scholfield's policy is to calculate the chart for the middle degree (15°) of the sign, therefore 1:50pm gives 15 Virgo on the ascendant.
