Biography

British fictional character,created in december 1940 by Robert Lucas (Robert Ehrenzweig) on German Service.Every chapter begins with "Teure Amalia, vielgeliebtes Weib!"The intention was propaganda,to give another view of the war.The figure of Adolf Hirnschal got more and more popular.There are similarities with Schweijk in his character.An optimistic nature he tells in every way of life all sorts of stories.Whole Europe was listening to Hirnschal and his letters to his wife to have something to laugh in dark times.Ehrenzweig,born 1904 in Vienna, died 1984.
