Biography

German professional astrologer and DAV member, frequent contributor to Astrologischer Auskunftsbogen; he developed a special sun transit horoscope.

According to him, in the fifties he shifted his focus more and more to astrology, which then in the sixties, besides his activity as a graphologist, became a living. His clients, for whom he was officially employed as a graphologist, were mainly in industry and public offices.

Herriger was a member of the German Astrologers' Association (DAV); at times he was a member of its advisory board. He left the association in the mid-1980s during Peter Niehenke's term as chairman of the DAV, together with numerous other certified astrologers, when the DAV developed in a direction to which he did not want to stand.

"Der Spiegel" wrote about him in 1981: "Theologians and lawyers, mathematicians and physicists come to him, all incredibly high-ranking people". Herriger's student Hans-Werner Wolter wrote: "Edith Wangemann said of him that he was a psychic. No astrologer could make such a prognosis. However, Dr. Walter Koch, who was a friend of Herriger during his lifetime, saw things differently. He saw him as one of the best forecasters in Europe."

One method developed by Herriger and first published in July 1959 in the "Astrologischer Auskunftsbogen" is the Solar Transit Horoscope (STH). Wolters describes them as follows: "Year after year the sun crosses the natal chart positions of the stars. With each of these transits, the aspect structure of this natal chart location anchored in the chart is activated. If the current, mundane constellations of this solar transit are brought in relation to the natal chart, then it can be recognized from it, which development and event tendencies have their validity up to the next solar transit. With each of these transits, the aspect structure of this natal chart location anchored in the chart is activated. He used the Koch housing system.

Herriger passed away in 1988.
