Biography
Israeli astrologer, noted as the first astrologer living in Israel. Yedidia Havkin published articles in German on astrology and later in Hebrew and in English newspapers. For years he wrote a multi-content diary on typewriters in Hebrew and German and corresponded with celebrities (Albert Einstein, Sigmund Freud, Thomas Mann and others).
Havkin was openly gay. He participated in various defensive operations on the construction of fortifications in Kiryat Anavim where he was hit by an enemy shell and was killed on 11 June 1948 at age 45.
