Biography
German business executive, he served as the chairman and chief executive officer of Daimler AG from 1942 to 1952. Haspel joined Daimler in 1924 and became the manager of the factory in Sindelfingen in 1927. After the NSDAP (Nazi Party) attacked him because of his "semi-Jewish wife" he was transferred to Untertürkheim at the end of 1935. After Wilhelm Kissel's death, he took over the chairmanship of the board in August 1942. He died of a brain hemorrhage on 6 January 1952 at age 53 in Stuttgart.
