Biography
American schoolgirl and victim of the 2011 Tucson mass shooting. On 8 January 2011, she, along with U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords and seventeen others were shot during a constituent meeting held in a supermarket parking lot in Casas Adobes, Arizona, in the Tucson metropolitan area. Six people died, including Green, federal District Court Chief Judge John Roll, and Gabe Zimmerman, one of Rep. Giffords' staffers. Giffords was holding the meeting, called "Congress on Your Corner" in the parking lot of a Safeway store when 22-year-old Jared Lee Loughner drew a pistol and shot her in the head before proceeding to fire on other people. Green was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead.
As her date of birth was 11 September 2001, Green had appeared in the book Faces of Hope: Babies Born on 9/11. She was the granddaughter of former Major League Baseball player and manager Dallas Green and the second cousin of actress Sophia Bush.

We agreed on September 10, 2001, right around midday, and she asked me to arrive at Christina Hospital in Newark, Delaware . . . before dawn. . . . A girlfriend came [to the hospital] in the middle of the afternoon . . . I'd been in hard labor for more than twelve hours. . . An hour later--well after midnight--they laid across my chest a gorgeous almost nin-pound Christina-Taylor Green...
