German radiologist and doctor who was concerned mainly with the medical analysis of radiographs, with the difficulties in X-ray diagnostics and the possible damage caused by X-rays.

In 1905 he published an "Atlas of typical radiographs from normal humans", which was followed in 1908 by an "Atlas of surgical-pathological X-ray images".

He died on 24 September 1950 in Bad Tölz, aged 74.
