Teodósio de Gouveia

Biography

Portuguese Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church, who served as Archbishop of Lourenço Marques in Mozambique from 1940 until his death, and was elevated to the cardinalate in 1946 by Pope Pius XII. He died from leukemia at 3:45 p.m. on 6 February 1962 in his archiepiscopal residence in Lourenço Marques, at age 72.
