Belgian tycoon, magnate of Saint-Michel cigarettes, the last direct representative of the family who invented the brand, he sold the company to the American giant Reynolds in 1982. Hospitalized for a prostate exam, he contracted infectious pneumonia and died on 15 June 1991, officially from cardiac arrest at age 67. Wishing to know the precise reasons for his death, investigators decided to exhume his body on 4 June 1997.
