Source Notes
Starkman quotes Nina Gurfinkel's biography Gorki, Par lui-meme. At the end of chapter 10 she quoted Gorky's authobiographical note written in 1893, age25: "I was born on 14 March 1868 at 2 am...".
Previously Penfield Collection speculated for 16 March 3 am, and add that Barbault believed he had Pisces rising. Old-file has 2:35 AM. The date in Americana is specified as NS. Andre Barbault in personal correspondence with LMR May 2001 states that he has no record of the data and has never given the birth time.
