American trombone player, who toured the world with Louis Armstrong's All-Stars 1965-1968.

He was also a studio musician and actor. He wrote Sultry Serenade, which was recorded by Duke Ellington and Erroll Garner.

He died on 18 May 1974 at Englewood, New Jersey.
