Biography
French actor who began his career as a dramatic actor on the stage. He became famous following his appearance in the 1892 play Lysistrata by Maurice Donnay. After numerous roles in the theatre, Gildès became a film actor in 1916. He then appeared in the first silent films, including Mater Dolorosa by Abel Gance.
He died in Paris on 6 October 1941 at age 85.
